This is Yara the Shar Pei. She was full of energy, and was so sweet. She ran around the studio checking everything out. When it was time to shoot, she kept lying on one of my rugs next to the front door. So, I figured why fight it. Pose her on the rug and give her a bone. She was a happy dog.

I love this rug
Yara is not a puppy, but she certainly looks like a puppy in this shot. It must have been all those acting classes.

Puppy Love
Yara just couldn’t sit still. Until she put on her lion outfit. She wouldn’t move a muscle with this on her. Isn’t she cute?

Shar Pei Lioness
This is her favorite sweater. Actually I think it’s her mom’s favorite. She (Yara) wears it so well. Don’t you think so?

Sporting a Sweater
Yara finally settles in just as we are finishing up. She was so much fun to work with.

I'm chilling
After working the room, it’s time to call it a wrap.

Time for a nap.
Photographing dogs is a lot of fun. I am not saying it’s easy, but it’s very fun. I love all animals (cats too!) so that makes it easier to photograph them. I love that each pet has a distinct personality.
Pet Portrait Day is coming soon.
